John G. Bremner
Joining Hunter Wise in 2000, John Bremner and his partner have developed a thriving buy side practice within Hunter Wise. John is an accomplished buy side acquisition target originator and advisor focusing on deal initiation, as well as executing on consolidations and strategic investments primarily with private, mid market companies. On average, John has originated over a billion dollars in offers for non-auction private equity and hedge fund transactions annually since joining the firm.
Prior to Hunter Wise, as a Managing Director of the New York based global IT consulting firm DMR, now known as Fujistu Consulting, John was co-founder of their Post Merger Integration practice. Along side a team from Boston Consulting on the business integration side, John was team leader for the IT Post Merger Integration Team for the Telus Communication merger with BCTel in 1999, the largest telecom merger in Canadian history. The result was a reduction in the IT spending of $300 million annually - greatly overachieving pre-merger synergy estimates. With DMR, his clients included not only Telus Communications, but also Fujitsu (Japan), AT&T Verizon, Dresdner Bank and Qwest.
As a serial entrepreneur, Mr. Bremner started businesses in publishing, affiliate marketing, consumer electronics, personnel, and supply chain logistics, including Tell Canada, one of Canada's first alternative long-distance data and voice service providers after the break up of Canada's phone monopoly. With Mr. Bremner as President and CEO, Tell Canada merged with CallNet, and then acquired Sprint as well as Cable & Wireless Canada.
